Anthracite Grey as a Standard or Custom Colour
Many of our manufacturers offer anthracite grey RAL 7016 as a standard or custom colour. Numerous lights are also available in other RAL colours, mica finishes and antique finishes.
Alongside anthracite and other shades of grey, we offer outdoor lights in a wide range of additional colours and finishes – from classic black and white to green, red and blue, as well as antique and patinated finishes.
An Alternative to Anthracite: Natural Zinc Patina
For those who prefer to avoid the appearance of a painted finish, patinated zinc offers an interesting alternative. French lanterns and country-style outdoor lights by Lumin'Art, for example, are available in a range of grey zinc patinas – from light to dark grey tones. The naturally varied surface gives classic lanterns an authentic, handcrafted character.
Iron Nature Finish – The Look of Aged Iron
Another distinctive grey finish is “Iron Nature” from German manufacturer Robers-Leuchten. This high-quality antique finish recreates the characteristic appearance of aged steel and iron.
Natural Dark Grey Patina from Weathering
The cast-iron country-style lights and nautical outdoor lights made from untreated cast aluminium by British manufacturer Davey Lighting gradually develop a natural dark grey patina over time, depending on their location and exposure to the elements.
Why Anthracite?
Anthracite is highly versatile and works particularly well with natural stone, brick, timber and light-coloured rendered façades. Its understated tone allows the design of the light itself to take centre stage and works equally well with modern and traditional architecture.

Not all grey outdoor lights look the same. In addition to classic anthracite grey, our manufacturers offer graphite and black-grey tones, mica finishes, natural zinc patinas and various antique finishes. Many models are also available in almost any RAL Classic colour.
