There are good reasons why virtually no manufacturer of premium traditional outdoor lighting offers integrated motion sensors as a standard feature. Beyond aesthetic considerations, the principal reason lies in longevity: motion sensors are components subject to wear and therefore represent a potential point of failure in a luminaire that would otherwise provide reliable service for decades. For this reason, we – like all of the manufacturers we represent – generally recommend the use of discreet external motion sensors that can be replaced independently if required.
